As one of the leading industries in Alaska, construction has played, and continues to play, a significant role in the state’s growth. Construction is one of our principal practice areas, and over the years we’ve served as legal counsel to industry leaders. Our construction law practice focuses on complex civil litigation with an emphasis on the defense of design professionals and the representation of owners (public and private), contractors and subcontractors. Our practice also includes contract preparation and review and federal contractor compliance and training. We have handled and tried claims in state and federal court and before the federal Boards of Contract Appeals. Mr. Geraghty, who leads this practice area, is the co-author of the Alaska chapter in a leading treatise, State-by-State Guide to Construction Contracts and Claims, published by Aspen Publishers.

As a full-service law firm, we also assist our construction clients with issues that arise outside of the construction context, including labor and employment, personal injury defense, worker’s compensation and collections.
