The employment arena is dynamic and constantly evolving area of the law. In the current employment environment it’s more critical than ever for employer’s to have informed legal counsel and rigorous representation. Our lawyers have a depth of knowledge and stay ahead of the regulatory changes and workplace trends to best serve our clients.
We advise and defend employers in all areas of employment law, including the regulatory “alphabet soup” ADA, ADEA, FLSA, AWHA and FMLA, as well as claims involving workplace discrimination and wrongful termination. We work with Alaska’s large and small employers alike in negotiating employment contracts, preparing arbitration agreements, developing and implementing personnel policies and procedures, and conducting workplace investigations.
We represent employers before various administrative agencies, including the EEOC, Anchorage Equal Rights Commission, Alaska Department of Labor Wage and Hour Division, Alaska Human Rights Commission, and OSHA Review Board. We offer extensive trial experience before Alaska’s state and federal courts, and have handled appeals before the Alaska Supreme Court and Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals.
Importantly, we appreciate the unique challenges that face employer’s doing business in Alaska. We’ve worked closely with management in the oil and gas, construction, tourism and health care industries, to name a few.
